Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a drug peddler in Borihalan area of Shopian district and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Police in a statement said, that a Police Party led by SHO Police Station Heerpora under the supervision of SP Hqrs Shopian Shri Javed Ahmad-JKPS at a checkpoint established at Borihalan, intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 920 grams of Cannabis powder was recovered from his possession.
He has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Wanah son of Gamah Wanah resident of Devpora.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 02/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Heerpora. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individual, police said in a statement.
