SRINAGAR, April 10: National Conference (NC) legislator Tanvir Sadiq on Thursday strongly condemned the alleged assault on AAP MLA Mehraj Malik inside the Assembly, calling it a "shameful violation of democratic norms" and demanding immediate legal action.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Sadiq as per Sachnews Jammu Kashmir said, “The assault on Hon’ble MLA @MehrajMalikAAP inside the Assembly is not just an act of violence, it is a shameful violation of democratic norms. If elected representatives cannot be safe within the premises of the Assembly, then something is fundamentally broken.”
“Strict action must be taken against all those involved in this attack, including the immediate filing of an FIR,” Sadiq said.
“The BJP and its B-Team, the PDP, cannot hide their anti-people agenda behind acts of violence. Their frustration over being exposed will not be allowed to threaten the dignity of the House or silence dissent. This must be condemned,” he asserted.
