Four Injured in Road Accident in Awantipora

Awantipora, April 19: Four persons were injured in a road accident that occurred this morning in the Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The accident took place on National Highway 44 near Padgampora Bridge when a passenger tempo collided with a road divider. The vehicle, bearing registration number JK14-3650, was being driven by Zahid Ahmad Kasana, a resident of Qazigund.

As a result of the collision, four passengers sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Awantipora for medical treatment. The injured have been identified as Sumitra from Chhattisgarh, Mukesh Kumar from Akhnoor, Vikas Singh from Jammu, and Hari Shankar from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, officials told Sachnews.

Following the accident, the tempo caught fire and was partially damaged. However, with the help of locals, the fire was quickly brought under control on the spot.
