Handwara, April 18: Police in Handwara cracked a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from his possession.
On 17/04/2025, Police Post Zachaldara received a complaint from the Panchayat Secretary of Ahagam stating therein that during the intervening night of April 16/17-2025, some unknown miscreants broke into the Panchayat Ghar Ahagam and stole several articles. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was promptly registered and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, investigating team zeroed in on one suspect identified as Altaf Ahmad Dar son of Habibullah Dar resident of Ahagam in the case. Following sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the commission of crime. Subsequently, he was arrested and, on his disclosure, stolen property was recovered from his possession.
