Pulwama, April 10: The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Pulwama on Thursday issued an admonition to a minor involved in a traffic accident while riding a scooty without a valid driving license. The incident, which had led to the registration of a case at Police Station Khrew, was taken up under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
According to Sachnews Jammu Kashmir, the step aimed at rehabilitation rather than punishment, the Board directed the minor, referred to as a Child in Conflict with Law to perform community service by assisting the local traffic police in managing vehicular flow. The decision is intended to foster responsibility, enhance awareness of traffic laws, and discourage such violations in the future.
Awantipora Police, while acknowledging the Board’s directive, reiterated their appeal to parents and guardians, do not allow minors to operate vehicles without a valid driving license, as it endangers not only their own lives but also the safety of others on the road.
